As a Delaware corporate coach and meditation teacher, Johanna Jackson understands the power of mindfulness and surrounding oneself with positive influences. She created a free app to help others harness this power.
The Moksha-Liberation app features scrollable inspirational sayings, and a random message pings users’ phones at 11:11 a.m. each day. Alternatively, they might set their own “nudges” or notifications for a different time of day.
“The feedback I’m getting from people is that they love getting a quote [notification] that’s different from someone else, and it seems to kind of hit on point for that day for that person,” Jackson says. “I’m very trusting that the universe is sending people the appropriate quote that they need.”
Jackson was inspired by her daughter and her upbringing as a first-generation American. “Becoming a mother challenged [me] to reconsider what it is that I’m creating in this world and what kind of imprint I’m leaving,” she says. “This app was basically inspired from my own journey, deeply rooted in overcoming challenges and embracing transformation.” She credits her app developer, Jagnaudh Bhatia, for bringing the vision to fruition.
Jackson crafted many of the app’s messages herself, and she invites users to submit their own quotes too.
